She’s leaving home, bye bye

Well, it’s not going to be on Wednesday morning at 5 o’clock as the day begins. . . It’s going to be tomorrow morning.

We’re heading over to Orlando to move Alix into her new off-campus housing at UCF. We’re all so excited! And I’m definitely feeling a bit happy-sad. My little girl is about to fly out on her own for the first time.

We’re probably going to stop at Denny’s (or Shoney’s, whichever one it is) and have a grand celebration feast there In Orlando. Hot fudge brownie sundays for everyone!

Happy-sad times! 🙂

27 minutes in the saddle

Got out early this morning and did a quick 6.6 mile lap in a nearby unfinished neighborhood.

Saw something I haven’t seen in quite a while – new home construction. They’ve started work on 4 new houses. That subdivision currently has about 6-8 completed homes with only 2 occupied. There are easily over 100 improved lots sitting vacant.

Maybe things are finally starting to turn around. . .

Bike ride

Well, I didn’t get to ride my bike today. Ended up taking Alix and her bug to the VW dealer to have them change out one of the bulbs in the headlight. I could have done it myself, but the engine compartment is packed so tight it was impossible. (for me, anyway)

Tomorrow. I will go for a ride on Tuesday. Even if it’s just for 30 minutes. (I have to keep up the empathy riding with Jason Mauer.

Until then, I’ve gotta get some sleep.

Night night.
